Areas of Heat Pump Usage

Heat pumps, which are systems used to meet heating and cooling needs, are commonly used in areas such as detached houses, apartments, workplaces, offices, factories, hospitals, swimming pools, farms, greenhouses, and drying facilities.

Detached Houses and Apartment Units
Heat pump systems for heating and cooling are widely used in many detached houses and apartment units in our country. Air-source heat pumps, which can be easily used in both apartments and detached houses, are the most preferred type of heat pump in these areas. Ground-source and water-source heat pumps, on the other hand, are more often preferred in detached houses due to the suitability of the land.

Workplaces and Offices
In workplaces and office environments, air-source heat pumps are commonly used to meet heating, cooling, and hot water needs. In workplaces and offices that do not require hot water, water-source systems can be used instead.

Factories
In factories, which are essential in the industrial sector, the best air conditioning systems must be used to maintain high thermal comfort for the staff. Considering this, heat pumps for heating and cooling offer a good solution for factories. In terms of efficiency, water-to-air heat pumps are generally used in factories due to their high efficiency.

Swimming Pools
Heating for pools is often necessary during colder weather periods. To meet this need and ensure pools can be used comfortably throughout the year, the water needs to be heated. Heat pumps ensure the pool water reaches the desired temperature. Air-source heat pumps are commonly used for heating pool water.

Hospitals
Hospitals are typically places where high thermal comfort is crucial, especially for patients. To maintain the required thermal comfort, heating and cooling are generally done using air-source or water-source heat pumps. For treatment processes, air- and water-cooled chiller systems are more commonly used.

Farms
Heat pump use is widespread in many farms, especially in chicken farms, to maintain the desired environmental temperature, which is important for the development of poultry. Water-to-air heat pumps are generally preferred in these areas due to their efficiency.

Greenhouses
Heat pump systems are used in greenhouses, particularly in winter months, to combat low temperatures and prevent freezing events. The purpose of using heat pumps is to prevent frost and ensure the healthiest growth of plants in the optimal time frame. The most commonly used heating system in greenhouses is water-to-air heat pump systems, which provide high efficiency.
