Heat Pump Cost
Heat pump cost consists of 2 factors.
- Heat Pump Installation Cost: The installation cost is high compared to other fossil fuel systems.
- Operating Cost: Environmentally friendly heat pumps provide high savings in operating costs if they are installed in accordance with the appropriate climatic conditions for the environments in which they are used.
The first thing that comes to mind about heat pumps is that they are environmentally friendly. The biggest energy source is nature and it requires low electrical energy power. Although the Heat Pump has a high cost, it is a profitable system in the long run. When calculating the cost of a heat pump, there are heat pump device price, equipment, installation cost and heat source costs. The biggest cost here is the type of heat source. Since the energy source in ground and water source heat pumps will be soil or boreholes, their investment costs are very high. In air source heat pumps, the energy source is air. Here, no investment is made for the source.
The important thing in these systems is to choose the most appropriate device according to the climate. Heat pump systems work more efficiently the lower the degree difference between the energy source and the heat output. It is not recommended to use an air source heat pump in very cold climates. The devices to be used here are ground source heat pump or water source heat pump. Which type of heat pump will be more economical in the long run must be calculated individually for each home. Air source heat pump is cheaper than water source heat pump. Air source heat pumps provide easier installation than water source heat pumps. The maintenance cost of an air source heat pump is more affordable than the maintenance of a water source heat pump. Electricity consumption of the air source heat pump may vary depending on weather conditions. However, this is constant in water source heat pump and ground source heat pump. Water and ground source heat pumps have a longer lifespan than air source heat pumps.
Heat pumps have very low maintenance costs compared to other devices and do not require a single human power during operation. The whole system can be adjusted automatically. Another advantage of these systems is cooling.
