Plan for Establishing a Fruit Drying Facility and Government Support Options

There are many incentives for those who want to establish a fruit drying facility. Institutions such as TKDK, KOSGEB, and the Ministry of Agriculture provide significant incentives in this field. In this article, we will focus on the most commonly accessed program, the 50% grant support from the Ministry of Agriculture.

Ministry of Agriculture - Rural Development and Agricultural Investment Support Program

With the slogan "Investment in Agriculture is Investment in the Future," our ministry continues to support those investing in the sector through various programs. With the “Support Program for Agricultural Economic Investments” published on 31.10.2021, support of up to 3.5 million TL is provided for each project. Through the “Support Program for Rural Economic Infrastructure Investments,” grants of up to 50% of the project cost, with a maximum of 600,000 TL, are provided.

This incentive is quite attractive for those seeking government support for establishing a fruit drying facility.

Currently, the application process for two support programs under the Rural Economic Investments Support Program (KKYDP) is ongoing, which includes both agricultural economic investments and rural economic infrastructure investments. These programs provide 50% grant support for eligible projects.

1. ECONOMIC INVESTMENT TOPICS:

1- Investments in the processing, drying, freezing, packaging, and storage of agricultural products. 2- Fixed investments for agricultural production. 3- Investments in production facilities that generate heat and/or electricity from renewable energy sources. 4- Investments in the processing, packaging, and storage of aquatic products. 5- Investments in the processing, packaging, and storage of animal and plant-based fertilizers.

Grant-supported project amounts for economic investments:

• For new facility applications, the maximum grant amount is 3,500,000 TL; for completion applications, 2,500,000 TL; and for capacity increase, technology renewal, or modernization applications, 2,000,000 TL.
• The minimum project amount eligible for grants is 250,000 TL.
• 50% of the approved project amount will be supported as a grant.

Requirements for Applicants for Economic Investments:

For "A Business Plan" project applications, natural and legal persons who are registered in the Farmer Registration System or other systems created by the Ministry can apply. Those submitting projects under the A Business Plan must have been registered in these systems for at least one year before the application deadline.

Collective, Limited, and Joint Stock Companies, Agricultural Cooperatives, Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, Agricultural Sales Cooperatives, Breeding Purpose Producer Unions, and Agricultural Producer Unions can apply as legal entities.

Application Time:

• Applications must be submitted through the data entry system by 21.01.2022.

2. RURAL ECONOMIC INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT TOPICS:

1. Infrastructure systems for developing family business activities.
2. Investments in beekeeping and bee products.
3. Information systems and training.
4. Handicrafts and value-added products.
5. Silkworm breeding.
6. Aquaculture.
7. Machinery parks for agricultural cooperatives and unions.
8. Investments in medicinal and aromatic plant cultivation.

Grant-supported project amounts for rural economic infrastructure investments:

• For applications under the "A Business Plan," the maximum grant amount for machinery and equipment needs of existing agricultural enterprises is 300,000 TL.
• For applications under the "B Business Plan," the maximum grant amount increases to 600,000 TL, with a minimum project amount of 20,000 TL.
• 50% of the approved project amount will be supported as a grant.

Application Time:

• Applications must be submitted through the data entry system by 17.12.2021.
